Quarter Finals and U16s still a chance
After some terrific performances in Week One, our U12s and U16s didn’t have a great day today but the U14s continued on their winning way with a comfortable win over Box Hill (NMCA 6-101 def BH 100). Having them 4/0 early in the day set up the win. That’s unlikely to happen again tomorrow when our boys take on Box Hill in the Quarter Finals. So we must be at our best to go through.
The U12s started ok with he bat but the innings crumbled to be all out for 90. That left an easy run chase for Mornington and the U12s will meet them again in the QF but down at Mount Martha. It may be an opportunity to have a swim after the match, win or lose!
The U16s could have secured a spot in the semi finals if they won today and were a good chance with 169 on the board. Unfortunately our bowlers were a bit flat in the heat and Mornington cruised to victory with 7 overs to spare. They are still hanging on to 4th but will need to everyone to be at their best to defeat West Gippsland who are sitting undefeated in second.
Good luck to our U12s and U14s in the Quarter Finals and to our U16s fighting for a spot in the top four.
